NEWS DIGEST– Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba of the Nigeria Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has confirmed the killing of 36 of its officers during a helicopter crash that happened as a result of the attack on August 14, 2023.

Buba gave the breakdown of the losses during a briefing on Thursday. Saying that the cause of the helicopter crash is still under investigation. He also urged Nigerians to be wary of terrorist propaganda and remain patriotic in these trying times.

The attack occurred between Zangeru and Kontagora in Niger State, leaving the nation in mourning as more officers lost their lives in the fight against terrorism.
