‘Judas Iskarius’: Liverpool goalkeeper incurs wrath of Twitter users

NEWS DIGEST – Liverpool shot-stopper Loris Karius made headlines for the wrong reasons as he produced a nightmare performance in between the sticks in Saturday’s Champions League final against Real Madrid.

With the game goal-less, Karius attempted to throw the ball out only for it to strike Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, who found an empty net to open the scoring. That was just the beginning as he later added to his collection of blunders after he fluffed a routine save by spilling a straight shot from Gareth Bale into his own net to seal a 3-1 win in Madrid’s favour.
The German glovesman was visibly agonised and apologetic after the horrific showing but his emotions couldn’t save him from incurring the wrath of angry twitter users. As usual, they were fast to chastise the 24-year old as they hurled several harsh words on him. Rio Ferdinand and Gary Lineker were among the notable names in the various tweets.
