Israeli troops conducted a raid in the occupied West Bank, resulting in the death of four Palestinians, identified as “terrorists” by the army.

The clash occurred in the town of Azzun, where live ammunition, stun grenades, and tear gas were used during the operation, according to the Palestinian health ministry. The Israeli army stated that the fatalities were a result of returning fire after militants shot at them and threw explosives.

One soldier was reported as moderately wounded, and three Carlo-type weapons were confiscated. Additionally, a separate exchange of fire in Qalqilya led to the neutralization of a Palestinian militant. The army made seven arrests overnight in the West Bank, bringing the total to over 2,550 since the Israel-Hamas war outbreak.

Tensions in the West Bank have escalated since the Six-Day War of 1967, with over 320 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces or settlers since October 7, according to the Palestinian health ministry.

“Four Palestinians were martyred by occupation bullets in the town of Azzun,” the Palestinian health ministry said.

“Israeli occupation soldiers fired live ammunition, stun grenades and tear gas at residents during the raid,” the report said.

“At the end of an exchange of fire, they killed four terrorists and confiscated three Carlo-type weapons (locally produced submachine guns) that were used by them,” the army said in a statement.
