On Friday, the Israeli military declared that it had responded to an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) attack in Syria by attacking a target.

This was a reaction to the previous day’s attack on a school building in the Israeli city of Eilat in the south.

“The Israeli Defense Forces attacked the Syrian organization responsible for Thursday’s (yesterday) UAV launch toward Eilat just a short time ago.

“The UAV which hit a school in the city,’’ the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), said early on Friday.

“The IDF holds the Syrian regime fully responsible for every terror activity emanating from its territory.

“The IDF will respond severely to every aggression against Israeli territory,’’ the Israeli military added.

A drone of unknown origin destroyed a school in the seaside resort town of Eilat on Thursday.

The IDF announced on Thursday afternoon that it was going over the incident’s specifics.

There were no casualty reports. (NAN/dpa)
