NEWS DIGEST–Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have attacked and razed down another community near Borno State capital, Maiduguri last night, a source said.
The insurgents who rode on bicycles, invaded Mamannti village, an outskirts of Maiduguri at about 10:30pm yesterday, shouting “God is great” as they shoot sporadically.
According to the source, the whole community was burnt down as residents fled to Molai for safety.
“As I am speaking with you, the village is burnt down and many animals dead, when people were running; the invaders said, “don’t run we have been warned not to kill you.”
He added: “I can’t tell you the casualties figure because we all ran to Molai. We are waiting for the military to go there now,” the source said.
