Infinix Mobility in partnership withthe Lagos State SDG Department, sets out to support 2,000 homes during this COVID-19 pandemic.

This global event that has caused the entire world so much shock, has also shown us how we can stand up for one another as one race. The pandemic has re-directed our view, shifting our focus towards humanity and humanitarian services. In a time like this, we have seen many companies, individuals and organisations supporting people who need assistance all over the world, and we are glad to see it here in our home country, Nigeria.

Infinix which is a smartphone, has joint hands with Lagos State SDG, to provide Nigerians in certain environments within the country’s most affected states, with needed supplies that will help them get through this trying time. The company is set on putting a smile on the faces of many citizens. In all visited areas, people were excited and elated as they saw a truck full of goodies arriving at their homes.

During the donation, a representative from Infinix Mobility, Yemi Adewunmi, motivated citizens to join in the battle against COVID-19, by taking the necessary measured of safety and hygiene to protect themselves.

He said: “From the point of planning this intervention to this very moment of execution, we have been enthusiastic all the way because we knew deep down that it was the right thing to do. We understand the plight of every citizen that has had to stay at home in order to give our health professionals a fair chance at defeating this virus. This token that we have brought to you is but a compensation for your heroism through this trying time. We enjoin you to stay at home as much as possible and protect yourselves with the approved gears if you must go out and also maintain proper hygiene as these are our only weapons against the lethal virus.”

This initiative was in consonance with the second of the sustainable development goals “zero hunger”.

In addition to delivering relief packages, the company also distributed 4,000 units of face masks and 20 infrared head thermometers across 20 hospitals and government owned health offices within Lagos state.

We should commend gestures like this, which goes to show that when we come together for the good of others, it surely goes a long way.
