The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Hope Uzodimma has been proclaimed the victor of the Imo State gubernatorial election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to Professor Abayomi Fasina, the returning officer, Mr. Uzodimma received the majority of legitimate votes and complied with all legal conditions.
According to Mr. Fasina, Hope Uzodimma, the APC’s candidate, received 540,308 votes, while Samuel Anyanwu, the PDP’s candidate for governor, received 71,503 votes overall.
