NEWS DIGEST– The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) apprehended an INEC official with money during Imo’s governorship poll. The incident unfolded at Polling Unit 005, Township Primary School, Ikenegbu 1, Owerri Municipal LGA.

An unnamed party allegedly offered the money for vote-buying, a persistent threat to Nigeria’s credible elections. ICPC, with EFCC, deployed officers to Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa to combat electoral fraud, including vote buying. 

In a related incident, party agents in Lokoja induced voters with financial offers ranging from N3,000 to N5,000 during the ongoing governorship poll.
