Bashir Ahmad, the former President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Assistant on Digital Communications, has expressed his disappointment over the recent actions of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Obi deleted a tweet in which he referred to Bola Tinubu as “Mr. President,” a move that Bashir regarded as lacking integrity and self-control.

Obi, who is contesting the results of the last presidential election, criticised the president’s reported 120-car convoy upon his return from France.

In his original tweet, Obi stated, “Allegedly showing Mr. President moving with about a 120-car convoy. While I have not had the opportunity of seeing the said video, my advice remains consistent – that sacrifices for a better Nigeria must start from the leaders at all levels of government.”

However, he later deleted the tweet and replaced it with a new one, replacing the reference to the “120-car convoy of ‘Mr. President’” with “a trending motorcade video.”

Bashir Ahmad criticised Obi’s decision, stating, “That was truly disappointing. I genuinely feel sorry for Peter, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party. It seems he has lost control over himself and his own opinions. How can you delete a well-composed tweet addressing your president as ‘Mr. President’ just because some individuals, claiming to be your supporters, bullied and attacked you?”
