Over 100 hoodlums launched an attack on the Ipaja police station in Lagos State on Monday.

The assault resulted in an exchange of gunfire, during which some of the attackers were reportedly killed.

According to channels news, the police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin said the attackers were Okada riders protesting an enforcement action carried out by police operatives.

Officers at the Ipaja division mounted a strong resistance against the attack.

However, Hundeyin did not confirm if there were any fatalities.

He assured that normalcy has been restored in the area, with additional police detachments deployed to maintain order.
