Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and counterparts from various states were honored at the National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST) for their significant contributions.

The awards, presented by Chief Olusegun Runsewe, Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), were received by state commissioners during the National Stakeholders Conference in Abuja.

The four-day event, attended by 28 states, acknowledged the governors for sustaining NAFEST over 35 years. Special recognition was given to Gov. Sanwo-Olu and former Rivers governor Nyeson Wike for their pivotal roles in the success of the festival.

Additionally, states like Rivers, Kaduna, and Bayelsa were recognized for consistent participation, discipline, and creative contributions to NAFEST.

“NAFEST has been held for 35 editions, we appreciate the governors who have been instrumental to the success of the festival over the years. We appreciate them all,” he said.
