Olaf Scholz, the chancellor of Germany, denounced the Hamas attack on Israel on Sunday.
He also assured Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Germany’s support for Israel during their phone conversation.
Scholz stated that an assessment will be done of Germany’s humanitarian assistance to the Palestinians.

Additionally, the Palestinian group Hamas’ Monday multi-fronted onslaught against Israel was denounced by former German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
In a statement, Merkel said “I condemn the attacks by Hamas on the state of Israel in the strongest possible terms.
“My thoughts and solidarity are with the Israeli people and the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,” said Merkel, a centre-right politician who led Germany from 2005 to 2021.
