On Saturday, a destructive gas explosion wreaked havoc at Council Bus-Stop in the Idimu area of Lagos State, resulting in the destruction of seven lock-up shops and several vehicles in a nearby mechanic workshop.

The emergency response, led by the Director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services, Margaret Adeseye, began around 2 pm after receiving the distress call.
The explosion, triggered by a gas cylinder leak in one of the shops, quickly spread to neighboring establishments. As of now, the fire has been brought under control, with ongoing efforts to extinguish any remaining pockets of flame.
