Former Super Eagles Coach Shuaibu Amodu Is Dead

Three days after former Super Eagles player and coach Stephen Keshi died in Benin City another highly decorated coach of several Nigerian national teams, Amodu Shuiabu has passed on.
Mr. Amodu died in his sleep early today according to a statement by the Nigerian Football Federation.
It is reported that he had gone to bed complaining of chest pains before his death.

The remains of Amodu has been deposited at the morgue of Stella Obasanjo Hospital in Benin City, incidentally the same facility where Keshi’s body was deposited three days ago after his sudden death.

Amodu managed a number of club sides in Nigeria, such as BCC Lions, El-Kanemi Warriors, and Shooting Stars. He also managed Orlando Pirates in South Africa

He first managed the Nigerian national team from April 2001 to February 2002. He was re-appointed in April 2008  but sacked in February 2010.

In May 2013, he was appointed technical director of Nigeria’s national teams and was re-appointed Super Eagles manager in October 2014, replacing the late Stephen Keshi. Although Keshi returned to the role two weeks later, he was fired in July 2015 and Amodu took charge again temporarily. He was replaced by Sunday Oliseh on a permanent basis later that month.

He died at the age of 58 years old and is survived by
