Former Polytechnic SUG President Shot Dead in Rivers State
Endwell Awunze, a former President of the Student Union Government (SUG) at Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, was tragically shot dead by suspected hoodlums in Ahoada Local Government Area of Rivers State on Wednesday night.

The incident occurred shortly after Awunze participated in a protest against the tenure extension of Local Government chairmen in the state. He left the demonstration near Ahoada East Council and boarded a motorcycle towards Ula-Pata road.
Reports indicate that a three-man armed gang ambushed Awunze along the way, opening fire on him.
Awunze died instantly, while the motorbike driver sustained gunshot injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The Rivers State Police Command has yet to release an official statement concerning the incident.
