The Ibadan South East Local Government Area office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Oyo State has confirmed that there was a fire incident.

Adeniran Tella, the state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), released a statement in Ibadan that was made accessible to the media, stating that the fire started on Friday at approximately 10.30 a.m.
The REC claimed that although the exact origin of the incident was unknown, a power surge was thought to have started.
Along with saying that just logistical items were burned, he added that no lives were lost.
Speaking of the incident, Mr. Tella said it had no bearing on the upcoming rerun election for Saki West State Constituency on February 3.
