Finidi George Warns Rohr Ahead of Super Eagles Clash

Former Nigerian footballer Finidi George has issued a warning to Benin Republic head coach Gernot Rohr ahead of their upcoming clash with the Super Eagles on Monday.

Rohr, who previously managed the Super Eagles for about six years before his dismissal in December 2021, will be plotting Nigeria’s downfall in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

While Rohr’s familiarity with the Super Eagles may give the Squirrels an edge, Finidi believes it is Rohr who should be worried about facing the Nigerian team, not the other way around.

As tensions rise ahead of the highly anticipated match, fans eagerly await to see if Rohr’s insider knowledge will prove beneficial or if Finidi’s confidence in the Super Eagles will be justified.

“He should be the one to be fearful (of the Super Eagles),” Finidi told reporters.

“We want to win the game, we will take risks to win.

“We should repeat the second half performance against South Africa in Abidjan. That will give us a positive result that will change the narrative and that’s what we want to do on Monday.”
