NEWS DIGEST– The Federal Government of Nigeria, in collaboration with Wema Bank, is inviting eligible Nigerians to apply for its newly launched digital skills programme for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The programme, called FGN X ALAT Digital Skillnovation Programme, is open to tech enthusiasts, aspiring entrepreneurs, business owners, job seekers, working professionals, and visionary future leaders.

Temitola Adekunle-Johnson, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation and MSMEs, Office of the Vice President, made this announcement in a statement on Monday in Abuja.

To apply for the programme, interested and eligible Nigerians can visit the website https://fg-skillnovation.alat.ng. The portal opened on Monday and applicants must be Nigerian citizens residing in Nigeria, aged between 18 and 35, and possess literacy and numeracy skills. Formal education is a plus but not mandatory.

Applicants must also have a digital device such as a smartphone, laptop, or desktop, and be ready to commit to the entire duration of the programme. A keen interest in digital skills, entrepreneurship, or technology is necessary.

The FGN X ALAT Digital Skillnovation Programme offers various benefits including training, guidance, and mentorship to facilitate growth. Participants will have the opportunity to develop their skills, gain access to funding for innovative ideas, and receive support in establishing successful startups and expanding their reach.

The programme also guarantees access to funding worth several millions of dollars in the form of mentorship, job prospects, and grants. It aims to bring the ideas of beneficiaries to life and provide them with real-world market experiences.
