In a tragic incident, Dr. Tiri Gyan David, a lecturer at the Federal University Dutsinma in Katsina State, was murdered by bandits early Tuesday morning. Dr. David, who served as the Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics, Extension, and Rural Development, was attacked at his residence in Yarima Quarters, Low-Cost Estate, Dutsinma Local Government Area.

A telephone witness who spoke to Channels Television revealed that the attack occurred around 1:30 am, with the assailants arriving armed with sophisticated weapons and firing shots sporadically. During the invasion, two of Dr. David’s children were abducted.
The Katsina Police Command spokesman, Abubakar Sadiq, confirmed the incident and stated that a formal statement would be issued soon. The community is in shock as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this brutal attack.
