On Friday night, there were reports of a private airplane skidding off the runway at Ibadan Airport in Alakia, Oyo State.

The General Manager of the State Fire Service, Yemi Akinyinka, had confirmed the incident to our correspondent on the phone.

Akinyinka said, “Yes, it is true. Our men are on their way but I don’t have details now. You will be updated.”

The aircraft, which was flown by FLINT AERO, is believed to have crashed in Ibadan shortly after taking off from Abuja.

Ten passengers and three crew members were reportedly on board the HS25B aircraft, call sign 5NAMM, which took off from Abuja at 18.41 hours and crashed into a bush just short of the runway at roughly 19.21 hours.

Sources stated that the aircraft suffered significant damage even though there were no fatalities because all of the passengers and crew were safely evacuated.
