In a move to enhance secure and efficient mass transit in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has inaugurated a private sector transportation scheme on Tuesday.

The inauguration marked the introduction of 14 high-capacity, air-conditioned buses, signalling the commencement of a transportation system envisioned to combat the menace of robbery associated with the “one-chance” syndicate in the city.

Arc Ubokutom Nyah, the Mandate Secretary of Transportation at FCTA, presided over the inauguration. Nyah highlighted the vision of FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, to revolutionise Abuja’s transportation system.

Nyah emphasised that the initiative aimed to attract additional private sector investors, fostering the provision of reliable and affordable alternative transportation solutions.
