The administration of Governor Peter Mbah in Enugu State is set to enhance the state’s revenue by leveraging opportunities in Nigeria’s burgeoning gaming industry. To this end, the state has organized a Gaming Conference themed “Exploring the Future of Gaming: Innovations and Collaborations,” scheduled for Thursday, June 27, in Enugu.
Prince Arinze Arum, the Executive Secretary of the Enugu State Gaming and Lotto Commission, announced that the conference aligns with Governor Mbah’s vision to position Enugu as a hub for gaming tourism and significantly grow the state’s economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion.
“Enugu State is a land of opportunities, and the Governor Peter Mbah Administration is committed to growing the state’s economy exponentially,” Arum stated. “This growth will not come from one sector. Therefore, we are committed to expanding these opportunities to make Enugu State the premier destination for investment, business, tourism, and for living.”

The conference, which will be held at the Amadeo Event Centre and inaugurated by Governor Mbah, aims to bring together stakeholders from both private and public sectors across Nigeria and beyond. The focus will be on exploring new opportunities and collaborations within the gaming sector.
“We firmly believe that this industry has the potential to transform our state into a gaming tourism destination,” Arum emphasized. “By leveraging its regulatory powers and creating fertile ground for partnership opportunities, the Enugu State Gaming and Lotto Commission (ESGC) is paving the way for a better regulated and viable gaming industry.”
Arum highlighted that Enugu State has long recognized the potential of the gaming industry and that harnessing its prospects could create a unique gaming tourism destination comparable to the best in the world. The conference aims to showcase the industry’s immense potential in the state, provide a platform for meaningful discussions and collaborations, and unlock economic benefits.
The Executive Secretary assured that the Commission is committed to ensuring a fair and transparent gaming environment. “Through innovative ideas and flexible but firm regulations, we aim to strike a balance between creating opportunities for growth and protecting the interests of our citizens,” Arum concluded.
