Emir Sanusi returns to palace as FG plans to smuggle Emir Aminu Bayero into palace

NEWS DIGEST – The reinstated emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II has returned to the Kano Emir’s Palace in the wee hours of Saturday morning to thwart the federal government’s plan to smuggle the erstwhile emir, Aminu Bayero, into the palace unnoticed.

DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that heavy security has been deployed to the Kano Emir’s Palace to give cover to the deposed emir as he set to return to the palace in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

Sources at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport said the dethroned monarch’s plane had landed.

On Thursday, the state governor assented to Kano State Emirates Council (Amendment number 2) Law, 2024.

The amended law had abolished the establishment of 5 Emirate councils of Kano, Bichi, Rano, Karaye and Gaya in the state.

The governor signed the bill into law at the presence of the deputy governor, Aminu Abdulsalam, Speaker, Isma’il Falgore, the SSG, Abdullahi Bichi.

Speaking after the signing, the governor announced the reinstatement of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi ll, who was deposed by former governor, Abdullahi Ganduje in 2020.
