EFCC Apprehends 26 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Abuja

The Abuja Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reported the arrest of twenty-six individuals suspected of internet fraud.

The anti-corruption agency announced the arrest in a statement released on Friday. The arrest took place on Tuesday, February 13 in various parts of the Federal Capital Territory, including Kurudu, Jahi, Kubwa and Gwarimpa.

“The suspects were arrested following reliable intelligence regarding their alleged participation in internet-related offences,” the statement read.

EFCC’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the arrests and revealed that several items were seized from the suspects. These items include a Toyota Tacoma, a CLS Mercedes 450, three Lexus cars, 40 phones and seven laptops.

“Once the investigations are concluded, the suspects will face charges in court, as stated in the official statement,” the statement read in part.
