Edo State’s Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, has disclosed that no fewer than 18 suspects were arrested in the last month for criminal activities.

Mr Adegboye disclosed this on Monday during a press briefing with journalists on the arrest in Benin.

According to him, the figure comprised 10 suspects arrested for alleged cultism and terrorising residents of the state.

He disclosed that the command’s operatives had also arrested two suspected kidnappers and in another case, neutralised some perpetrators during a gun-wielding, leading to the rescue of a victim.

”The police command in Edo, in a bid to rid the state of criminal elements, has made some modest achievements. These included the arrest of kidnappers, cultists, armed robbers, illegal possessors of firearms, as well as recovery of firearms and other dangerous weapons.”
