Edo Assembly Lifts Suspension of Lawmaker Bright Iyamu for Showing Remorse

The Edo State House of Assembly announced the recall of one of its suspended lawmakers, Mr. Bright Iyamu, on Monday.

Iyamu, representing Orhionmwon South under the PDP, was suspended on May 6 along with Donald Okogbe (PDP-Akoko-Edo II) and Adeh Isibor (APC-Esan North-East I) for allegedly plotting to impeach the Speaker and other principal officers.

The Speaker, Blessing Agbebaku, stated that Iyamu’s suspension was lifted because he had shown remorse.

Following Iyamu’s recall, other lawmakers urged the Speaker to also lift the suspensions on Okogbe and Isibor. However, Agbebaku noted that Isibor had taken the matter to court.
