The organizers of the 2023 ECOWAS Abuja International Marathon have announced a December 16 date for the event. Unlike previous editions, this year’s race will feature a five-kilometer fun run for families and enthusiasts alongside the traditional half-marathon.

Interested participants can obtain free registration forms at various locations, including the ECOWAS secretariat, AFN secretariat in Abuja, sports offices in the Federal Capital Territory’s six Area Councils, and the Rugby Football Federation office in Abuja.

The half marathon will commence at the ECOWAS secretariat, while the five-kilometer race will start at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway. Both races will conclude at Eagles Square, where additional entertainment and fun activities are planned.

Race Director Gabriel Okon of Y & T Sports Management encourages Nigerians to embrace the theme of promoting integration among ECOWAS citizens. He emphasizes the opportunity for people of all ages to participate and underscores the significance of unity across the sub-region.

Okon also announces enticing prizes for participants, anticipating a diverse turnout from countries such as Ghana, Senegal, Liberia, Gambia, and beyond.
