The World Bank has allocated $300 million to Angola to support its efforts in diversifying the economy.

Ivan dos Santos, the Angolan secretary of state for public investment, revealed the funding for the ‘Diversifica Mais (D+)’ initiative.

This project aims to expedite Angola’s economic diversification sustainably, with the private sector playing a central role.

Among its goals is developing the regulatory and institutional environment for trade, company registration, and growth.

The project also seeks to improve financial services, particularly for enterprises owned or managed by women, with an anticipated allocation of $40 million.

Mr Santos noted that approximately 12,000 private companies are expected to directly benefit from the initiative.
