Easter: Pay wage award to reduce hardship – TUC begs Kogi Govt

The Trade Union Congress (TUC) has urged the Kogi State Government to promptly implement wage awards for workers to alleviate economic hardship in the state.

 

Comrade Ahmed Tijani, the Chairman of TUC in Kogi State, issued the appeal in a statement on Friday as part of the Easter celebration felicitation to Christians.

 

Tijani, who also felicitates with Muslims on this year’s Ramadan fast, stressed the need for the Kogi State Government to, aside the sharing of rice palliatives, to also consider the payment of wage award to civil servants.

 

He noted that they are at the receiving end of the economic challenges.

 

While assuring workers commitment to the success of the present administration, he however appealed to them to keep hope alive as the Organized Labour will continue its engagement with the government for a better deal.

 

He re-emphasized the need for prayers for government at all levels in view of precarious economic challenges bedevilling the nation.
