Last night, a four-storey building connected to the Westbrook Hotel in Abuja’s Garki area collapsed, trapping numerous people inside.

An eyewitness, who spoke to Punch anonymously, reported seeing two individuals being rescued from the debris and transported to the hospital.

The eyewitness expressed concern that there could be more victims still trapped inside the collapsed structure.

“There is a possibility that some people inside the building may have died. I saw two people being pulled out from the rubble and taken to the hospital while rescue operations are ongoing. The emergency responders are not yet coordinated for efficient operations,” the eyewitness stated.

Rescue efforts are ongoing, but reports indicate that emergency responders are still working to organize their operations effectively.
