Dangote Refinery has announced that it will begin supplying Premium Motor Spirit (fuel) to the Nigerian market from July 10–15, 2025.

This new date was revealed by Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, during a recent tour of the 650,000 barrel per day capacity refinery by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The refinery had initially planned to commence fuel supply in June but faced a minor challenge that delayed the start. ply in June, as earlier announced.

“We had a bit of delay, but PMS will start coming out by July 10 to 15. But then we want to keep it in the tank to make sure that it settles. So by the third week of July, we’ll be able to come out to take it into the market,” Dangote had said.

“Right now, Nigeria has no cause to import anything apart from gasoline and by sometime in June, within the next four or five weeks, Nigeria shouldn’t import anything like gasoline; not one drop of a liter,” he declared

In April, the refinery began supplying diesel and aviation fuel, several months after its commissioning in May of the previous year.

The refinery had expressed concerns about the inadequate supply of crude oil from international oil companies in Nigeria.

“The NNPC is doing its best, but some of the IOCs, are struggling to give us crude. Everybody is used to exporting, and nobody wants to stop,” Dangote told CNN recently.
