Court orders Kano anti-corruption commission to suspend probe on Emir Sanusi

NEWS DIGEST – A Federal High Court sitting in Kano has ordered the Kano State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission to suspend its ongoing investigation against Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II over an allegation of financial misappropriation running into billions of naira.

Recall that on June 7, Muhammad Munnir Sanusi, a holder of Dan Buran, as well as the Chief of Staff to Emir Sanusi, had approached the court seeking the restraining of the state government or its agent from taking further action based on the preliminary report of the state’s anti-graft agency.

In his ruling on Tuesday, Justice O A. Egwuatu, restrained the anti-corruption agency against taking any further action against Mr Sanusi pending determination of the motion on notice dated June 7.

Justice Egwuatu, therefore, adjourned the ruling till June 28.
