Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has publicly disclosed his substantial investments in oil palm plantations located in Cross River State.

While speaking in Calabar, Saraki revealed that he had invested millions of naira in other agricultural endeavors.

He disclosed this when he paid a courtesy call on Governor Bassey Otu in his office in Calabar after visiting the Export Processing Zone.

Saraki said, “We have been very encouraged. It is not only in the oil plantation that we are focusing, we are also looking at other businesses.

“We were at the Export Processing Zone, Calabar earlier.  We intend to be long-term partners of Cross River State.”

He revealed that he is also making investments in the state’s Ayip Eku Oil Plantation located in Akamkpa Local Government Area.

Governor Otu, according to the former governor of Kwara State, “understood what it took to govern and attract investors.”

He claims that Otu’s sensible economic policies have made Cross River a highly promising location for investments.

In his speech, Governor Otu expressed his happiness that someone with Dr. Saraki’s stature was investing in the state and assured him that his administration would work with him and other potential investors to transform the state’s economy.

“We will continue to create an enabling environment for you to succeed. Please bring more investments to the state,” Otu assured the former Senate president.”
