Former President Muhammadu Buhari expressed grief over the passing of journalist, author, and politician, Sidi Hamid Ali, who succumbed to a long-standing illness.

The former president in a statement on Friday released by his media adviser, Malam Garba Shehu, Buhari praised the late journalist as a talented writer whose work earned his admiration.

He commended Sidi’s remarkable contributions in documenting his efforts to combat corruption and indiscipline during his tenure as Military Head of State, noting his publication of an insightful book on the subject.

Additionally, the former President acknowledged Ali’s subsequent work detailing his achievements as an elected civilian president.

He said “I am pained by the demise of noted journalist, author, and politician, Sidi H. Ali, who won my heart and that of many through his critical writings and the two books he wrote about me.

“He was a creative writer. My condolences to his family and admirers,”
