The All Progressives Congress (APC) governor, Uba Sani, has been removed from office by the Kaduna Governorship Electoral Petition Tribunal (GET) after the PDP’s candidate, Isah Mohammad Ashiru, filed a petition challenging the election of Sani to the governorship of Kaduna State in March 2023.

In a split decision of 2-1, Judge Victor Oviawe’s three-man panel declared the election inconclusive and ordered the INEC to hold a supplementary election within 90 days.

The PDP challenged Sani’s election as the sitting governor of Kaduna State on the grounds of irregularities and electoral fraud.

The tribunal further declared that INEC will hold the election in 7 wards, 4 local governments and 24 polling units with 16,300 voters.

The PDP and the Ashiru had called 24 witnesses during the hearing and presented arguments and documents to support their claims.

It was reported earlier that the tribunal would deliver the ruling virtually on Zoom.
