The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has said the Federal Government’s directive on border closure is still in force.

According to NCS Comptroller, Niger/Kogi Area Command, Busayo Kadejo while briefing newsmen at the command headquarters in Minna, on Tuesday, warned smugglers and other criminal elements that there would be no sacred cow.

Seized items, including eight exotic cars, were showcased, and seized in December 2023. Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from the seizure already auctioned, totaling N194.78 million DPV.

The command recovered N12,605,439, primarily from Demand Notice. Kadejo reports 65 seizures, N206,301,933 DPV, and N77,271,851 recovery. Massive intelligence deployment and encouragement rules led to no casualties, acknowledging officers’ bravery. The command pledges to uncover illegal routes, make arrests, and disrupt smuggling operations. Seven suspects were arrested and released on bail.
