…set to hold 2nd business breakfast meeting, plans to unveil carnival logo

NEWS DIGEST – The Akoka Community Development Association a subset of Bariga Local Council Development area, Lagos is set to hold it 2nd business breakfast meeting which is to be centered on Business & Community Development as the official theme and simultaneously Akoka Carnival logo would be unveiled officially which would kick-start the biggest, liveliest and colorful Carnival ever recorded amongst CDAs in Lagos.

Community Development Association constitutes a backbone in the development of activities within the immediate locality, Specifically, with over 3,000 CDAs in Lagos, Akoka CDA without much ado has witnessed infrastructural facilities in the area among other various projects such as rural electrification, signpost construction, borehole, organizing vigilante groups, community town hall meetings, rehabilitation and leveling of roads, clearing of drainages, grading of roads, construction of culverts. etc.

The 2nd Business breakfast meeting alongside the unveiling of the Akoka CDA Carnival logo is scheduled to hold on the 5th of April 2018 at the Bariga LCDA Hall, Pedro with the Guest Speaker as Mr Dayo Omotoye – Chief Executive Officer, Anchor Gas. The special guests to grace the occasion are; Hon. Kolade David Alabi, Chairman, Bariga Local Council Development Area, Segun Adesanya – Chairman, Akoka CDA, Lagos, Hon. Akeem Sulaimon (ORIS) – Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Communities and Communications, The Royal Father of the Day – Baálè Olusegun Aroyewun Sogidi 1 (Baale of Isale Akoka), Father of the Day – Alhaji T.A Quadri, Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos Governor on Community Affairs and other invited guests.

It should be noted that the establishment of a virile and vibrant system of community associations enables the government to partner with communities, sensitise them on its priorities and receive feedback on public policies.
