Benue Deputy Speaker Demands Justice for Youth Killed by Police Taskforce

Unidentified members of the Operation Zenda Joint Taskforce of the Benue State Police Command have reportedly killed a youth named Peter Aboh Onminyi from Ado LGA at his residence in Makurdi. The motive for the killing remains unknown.

In response, Hon. Mrs. Lami Danladi Ogenyi, the Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and representative of Ado State Constituency, visited the deceased’s residence on Wednesday.

She called on the Benue State Commissioner of Police to thoroughly investigate the incident and ensure justice is served.

Mrs Lami assured the public that no resources would be spared in unearthing the truth behind the unjustified killing of the young, promising boy from her constituency.

She also visited the office of the Commander OPS ZENDA JTF, Makurdi Command, where the men reportedly came from to carry out the raid.

While calling on every relevant authorities to intensify their investigations, the Deputy Speaker urged the teeming youths of Benue state, particularly Ado Local Government to continue to remain law abiding, promising that justice must prevail.

In company of the Deputy Speaker during the visit include; member representing Ogbadibo State Constituency, Hon Agada Ismail Samuel and member representing Makurdi South constituency, Hon Ikyan Douglas.
