In the Furaka village in the Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state, a man was slain by gunmen on Tuesday night who were suspected of being kidnappers.

Before making their getaway, the gunmen reportedly allegedly abducted a woman and another male, according to witnesses who verified the occurrence in Jos on Wednesday.

Madaki Gottom, a community member, stated, “On Tuesday at approximately 8 p.m., some armed guys arrived to our neighborhood. They broke into the Furaka Community in Jos Jarawa Ward, Jos North, close to Tina Junction.

“Unfortunately, Mr Aaron Danji was shot and killed while Antipas Gabriel and a 20-year-old lady were taken to an unknown destination. Since then, we have not seen any of those taken away.”

The Spokesman for the State Police Command, Alabo Alfred, described the incident as a case of kidnapping and not a fresh attack by gunmen in the community.

“We are aware of the incident. It is not a case of another attack on the community but a kidnap incident and we are already investigating it,” the PPRO said.
