Suspected bandits have reportedly abducted eight people in Sagwari Layout Estate in the Dutse axis of Bwari Area Council in Abuja.

The incident reportedly happened on Sunday when gun-wielding hoodlums invaded the estate around 11:47 p.m.

A resident of the community, Emmanuel Shagari, who confirmed the incident, said the gunmen gained entrance into the estate’s back fence and whisked away the victims at gunpoint.

“The gunmen operated quietly without shooting guns to avoid attracting the attention of neighbours to the estate.

“Before moving out their victims, they tied down the security guard with a rope and went away with his phone,” said  Mr Shagari.

He claimed that the combined security rescue effort was still in progress and that security personnel were notified after the shooters had fled with their victims.

Meanwhile, the FCT Police Command is yet to confirm the attack.
