No other APC aspirant can consolidate Buhari’s legacy like Tinubu, Group says

NEWS DIGEST – The Consolidation Ambassadors, a pro-Buhari group, has said it will take a candidate with experience and leadership qualities like Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to reinvigorate the country and sustain the achievements of President Mohammadu Buhari.

Tinubu, who was dealt a lot of criticism on social media for his recent remark to Ogun state Governor Dapo Abiodun, will lock horns with 12 other presidential aspirants, particularly Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo, at next week’s primaries.

In Saturday’s statement signed by the Group’s National Organising Secretary, Dr M.S. Awwal, TCA explained that it became necessary for APC delegates to consider Mr Asiwaju Tinubu after the primaries of the main opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party, saw Abubakar Atiku emerge as the party’s presidential candidate.

“It is a political development that needs careful analysis, consideration and realignment,” the statement read.

The APC must now do everything possible, within its means, to win, TCA said. “Partisan politics is not all about Pierre de Coubertin sports philosophy of participation or mere contest, but it is all about WINNING!”

The TCA added that Tinubu is the only APC candidate that can challenge PDP’s Atiku whether it be tactics, strategy, popularity, national acceptance or international recognition.

“Without any iota of doubt, Tinubu is APC’s most influential politician. His mentoring of top politicians is legendary and his national acceptance is no doubt a non-negotiable fact that can usher our party to success come 2023 election.

“For Nigeria to consolidate on the achievements of President Buhari, we need a bold, frank, independent, transparent, intelligent, smart-thinker, creative mind and above all, a man of Tinubu’s experience, sterling leadership qualities, a detribalised man, a man who treats everybody on equal, just and fairness, irrespective of religion, gender or age,”  the group wrote in their statement.

TCA called on members and leaders in the party to support Mr Tinubu ahead of the primaries and the 2023 presidential election.

“Although, the TCA is not biased towards any presidential aspirant contesting to be the presidential flagbearer of our great party, however, we owe our party and party members the need to guide its direction towards fielding that candidate that will be able to outwit and defeat the Peoples Democratic Partys flagbearer at the 2023 presidential elections,” the group added.
