NEWS DIGEST– Manchester United and Brazilian footballer, Antony, is returning to England after being accused of domestic violence by three women, including his former lover Gabriella Cavallin.

The Brazilian winger was granted a leave of absence by the Premier League club earlier this month after Cavallin alleged that he had assaulted her on 15 January in a Manchester hotel.

Photographs of Antony were published by The Sun on Tuesday night, showing him at Sao Paulo airport as he prepared to travel to Spain and then back to Manchester. It is reported that Antony intends to meet with authorities soon to deny the accusations by these women.

He understands the seriousness of the accusations and is eager to prove his innocence as soon as possible. He has already declared that he will cooperate fully with the authorities and provide whatever evidence they need.

Antony is keen to clear his name as soon as possible, and resume his footballing career without any distraction. Manchester United did not discipline him, and he was paid in full during his leave of absence.

Despite this, the footballer has faced severe accusations from three women, including his ex-girlfriend Cavallin, who claimed that she was assaulted by him four times. Law student Rayssa de Freitas and banker Ingrid Lana accused Antony of violent behavior in Brazil.

Following his exclusion from Brazil’s national team squad in September, Antony appeared on television, giving a sad interview in which he denied these accusations.

In a statement released earlier this month, Antony reiterated his claim of innocence and agreed with Manchester United to take a break, to avoid any kind of distraction or controversy for the club. He said he was happy to cooperate with the authorities, and fully committed to helping them reach the truth.

Meanwhile, Gabriella Cavallin, Rayssa de Freitas, and Ingrid Lana will all be watching carefully for the outcome of the case. The Manchester United player’s future football career may depend on whether he is cleared of these charges.
