NEWS DIGEST– British boxing champion Anthony Joshua has opened up about his choice to reside with his mother at the age of 34, firmly asserting that any future partner would find it challenging to convince him to move out.

After amassing an estimated £15 million from his victorious match against Wladimir Klitschko, Joshua returned to his mother’s two-bedroom ex-council flat in 2017. Despite subsequent triumphs, including his recent win over Robert Helenius in August, the focused pugilist is currently on the lookout for his next fight, scheduled for 2024.

During a conversation with Louis Theroux, Joshua explored his deep connection with his family and offered a warning to potential girlfriends, explaining, “I still live with my mum… In our culture, we firmly believe in supporting our parents and cherishing the importance of family. So why would I leave my mother alone, just to be with someone? Family reigns supreme. When a woman becomes involved with me, she becomes a part of my extended family.”

While the accomplished athlete is currently not publicly engaged in a relationship, he admitted that he prefers to keep his personal life private due to the difficulty of meeting the immense expectations placed upon him. Joshua voiced his concerns, saying, “Will my every word be scrutinized and twisted to create a narrative? That’s why I choose to maintain a more reserved disposition. The pressure to be an impeccable superstar is immense. Trust me, those expectations have the power to bring you down. The higher you ascend, the harder the fall.”

Previously, Joshua had an intermittent relationship with Nicole Osbourne, a former school friend and the mother of his child. At one point, he purchased a £500,000 flat near his own residence for her.
