Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has explained why the LaLiga giants will refuse to participate in FIFA’s expanded Club World Cup next season.

Scheduled to take place in the United States at the end of the next season, the tournament will feature 32 teams from around the globe.

Ancelotti, who led Real Madrid to a La Liga and Champions League double this season, stated that FIFA has offered approximately €20 million for their participation.

However, he noted that Real Madrid will not be the only team declining FIFA’s invitation.

He said; “FIFA forgets that the teams will not participate in the new Club World Cup.

“A single Real Madrid match is worth €20million and FIFA wants to give us that amount for the entire tournament.

“We will decline the invitation,”.
