Canadian-born Nigerian Kelvin Amayo has signed for the reigning Nigeria Premier Basketball League Champions, Rivers Hoopers for the 2024 Basketball Africa League.

In their inaugural season in the Basketball Africa League the previous year, Amayo guided Stade Malien to a third-place result.

Before that, the guard assisted the Malian team in defeating REG, Kwara Falcons, and ABC Fighters to win the Sahara Conference championship.

In eight games for Stade Malien, Amayo averaged 7.4 points, 4.8 assists, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.4 steals.

He was a former member of the NCAA, Georgia, and Iran’s Loyola Marymount Lions team.

The 32-year-old joins the Hoopers as their second signing following William Perry’s announcement one week prior.
