Tinubu to appoint Al-Mustapha NSCDC Boss? Details emerge

NEWS DIGEST – Major Hamza Al-Mustapha (retd.), the former Chief Security Officer to the late military dictator Sani Abacha, is being considered for the position of Commandant-General at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Information obtained by The News Digest indicates that he could replace Ahmad Audi, who was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in February 2021.

A source revealed to The News Digest that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is actively exploring the appointment of Al-Mustapha, drawing on his experience in the security sector.

Al-Mustapha, who previously ran as a presidential candidate for Action Alliance, would assume the role at NSCDC, a paramilitary agency responsible for National Disaster Management, Protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure of Government, Registration, Training, Licensing, and Monitoring of the activities of Private Guard Companies in Nigeria, if appointed.
