After Eze Madumere is Hafiz Abubakar

NEWS DIGEST – The recently provoked Deputy Governor Hafiz Abubakar has been caged, sidelined and not been given full recognition of his office to effectively discharge his duties as the second citizen of the commercial hub. He goes to his office at the Government House (named after a late Deputy Governor as Magaji Abdullahi Complex), from his own house, nearly a 40km drive against his statutory official residence which is yet to be provided by the governor all this long.
Hafiz Abubakar MFR is a Professor from Bayero University, Kano was a former Commissioner of Finance under Kwankwaso in his first term, he served as Chairman Northwest University Implementation Committee. He was before his nomination as Ganduje’s running mate in 2015 a Deputy Vice Chancellor(Academic) of BUK.
As the Acting Governor of Tumbin Giwa at different times, he has not been given the opportunity to act fully in that capacity. His outbursts last year in regards to the political persecution and marginalization he is facing in the hand of a mere commissioner, currently a party Chairman is a thing of worry to him. He made it public that he will not be his principal’s running mate in 2019, he has been an Acting Governor by name and a Deputy Spare Tyre according to many observers.

His open loyalty to former governor Kwankwaso and his recent statement as not being part of the 4+4 campaign’s bid of Ganduje is a thing of worry for the governor, it was what necessitated and speed his impeachment process as Deputy Governor.
Like Prince Eze Madumare, the impeached Deputy Governor of Imo State, Hafiz Abubakar will be accused of disloyalty to his boss and anti party activities.
In a letter he personally signed and sent to Police Commissioner Rabiu Yusuf, copied to the State Director of SSS, the Deputy Governor called on the commissioner to strengthen security around him stating that there is a plot to impeach him.
“Another worry is the fact that, I am residing in my private residence not the official residence that is located in the secure environment within the Government House, as Government is yet to provide me with the Statutory Official Residence. I travel no less than 40km to and from my residence to the office on daily basis”. He said
The battle line for political supremacy has been drawn between a governor that is fighting his predecessor and a Deputy that is loyal to that predecessor.
With the impeachment of Yusuf Ata as Speaker and election of a new Speaker, the process of impeaching Hafiz Abubakar will kick start within the week, by next week; all shall be history. He will be illegally removed and replaced with a new Deputy from the Kano Central Senatorial District.
For Hafiz, he will go to court to challenge his illegal impeachment, the drama is unfolding but all is not well at the formerly Sani Abacha House.
