Abdulhaleem Ringim, Overall Winner 2021 CJA wins 2022 Royal African Awards

NEWS DIGEST – Abdulhaleem Ishaq Ringim, an award-winning syndicated writer and political/public affairs analyst has been honoured with the Royal African Young Leadership Forum Award of His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, OJAJA II, Ooni of Ife.

The Royal African Young Leadership Forum (RAYLF) Awards is “one of the largest historical congregation of young people in Nigeria”, said Nigeria’s Youth and Sport Minister, Mr Sunday Dare. It is a platform where His Majesty The Ooni of Ife “honors the sterling and finest endeavours of selected 100 young Nigerians”.

Mr Ringim was honored for his astral achievements in writing and political/affairs analysis having established an extensive footprint across Nigeria’s news media; maintained a diverse writing portfolio from politics through economic affairs to security and education; and influenced decisions and policies of government through his writing endeavours.

At 22, Ringim emerged the youngest National ‘Campus Journalist of the Year’ at the 2021 Campus Journalism Awards(CJA) organized by Youths Digest. He is also a two-time winner of the ‘Syndicated Writer of the Year’ award for the 2020 and 2021 editions of the Campus Journalism Awards respectively.

In his unmatched efforts to build, sustain and mentor a new breed of competent and patriotic leaders for Nigeria and Africa, His Imperial Majesty The Ooni of Ife instituted the Royal African Young Leadership Forum (RAYLF) to serve as a “contemporary community of young people with finest aspirations of inspiring the future generations of the best and brightest that are irrefutably anchoring a new economic frontier by establishing innovative clusters through various mechanisms that can provide Africa its long-awaited prosperity and competitive advantage”.

RAYLF, as described by His Imperial Majesty The Ooni of Ife in 2020 when it was launched is a mission for the “Africa to the future”.  The forum has now “evolved into a new transformational multipurpose vehicle that is poised to unlock the untold stories of Africa’s abundant human capacity and natural resources, as well as identify, develop, and embrace a new breed of competent patriotic leaders with modern worldviews who can undoubtedly influence and shape the continent’s economic narrative to its enviable destination as envisioned by our forefathers”.

Mr Ringim, alongside 99 other outstanding young personalities covering all five RAYLF pillars of governance and leadership, technology and innovation, entrepreneurship and empowerment, creative culture, and academic excellence were
awarded and inducted into the Royal Court of The Kingdom of Ife at the third edition of the RAYLF award ceremony which took place today May 21, 2022 at the Oduduwa Hall of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

Other outstanding youths awarded include Tunde Onakoya, Jamil MD Abubakar, Olamilekan Massoud(Laycon), Rinu Oduala, Farida Mohammad Kabir, Ahmad Salihijo, Nancy Isime, Ayodeju Balogon, Abubakar Nur Khalil, Aysha Ahmad Mohammad, Ceewhy Ochoga, Hassan Dantata among other.
