‘There is God’, PDP’s Abba speaks after Supreme Court ruling on Kano

NEWS DIGEST – Abba Kabir Yusuf, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2019 governorship election in Kano State has reacted to Supreme Court judgement, which affirmed the election of Abdullahi Ganduje as the duly elected governor of the state.

In a unanimous judgement read by Justice Nwali Ngwuta on behalf of the 7-man panel of justices, the Supreme Court said the facts presented by Mr Yusuf did not support the appeal, which was predicated on a single ground.

But in a statement by the spokesman spokesman for the Kano governorship candidate, Sanusi Dawakintofa, Mr Yusuf alleged that the judiciary connived with “oppressors of the Nigerian democracy” to rob Kano people of their mandate.

“Today’s judgement on the Kano governorship tussle further confirms the connivance of the allied forces of election robbery who are oppressors of the Nigerian democracy.

“Considering the overwhelming evidences presented by the eminent team of experienced lawyers, one cannot imagine how these agents of tyranny and undemocratic principles joined hands to rob the good people of Kano their mandate.

“However, we have seen the worst of what they can do, so they should await the judgment of the Almighty Allah, which they cannot avoid,” the statement said.
