The 11th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) Cultural Night, held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos, was a vibrant celebration of Africa’s rich cultural heritage.
The event brought together celebrities and dignitaries adorned in traditional attire that showcased the continent’s diverse cultures.
A Carnival of Culture and Class
As expected, the AMVCA Cultural Night was a rich tapestry of ethnic pride and artistic expression.

From intricately beaded crowns to handwoven kente and richly embroidered agbadas, the red carpet came alive with craftsmanship and culture. Each outfit wasn’t just a look, it was a narrative stitched with history and identity.
Goldberg, the headline sponsor for the night, brought extra excitement by awarding ₦1 million each to the Best Dressed Male and Female.

It can be said that this extra incentive raised the stakes for participants, all of whom would have dressed their best regardless. And as Friday night unfolded, attendees didn’t just come to take part, they came to make a statement.
Fashion Royalty on Display

Adedimeji Lateef emerged as one of the night’s most talked-about stars. His ensemble was a masterclass in elegance and bold tradition, earning applause both at the venue and online.
Nollywood’s elites didn’t hold back either.

Flowing gowns adorned with coral beads, regal headpieces, and colour-rich textiles made it clear that this night was not just about being seen, but it was about being remembered.
Couples and celeb duos turned heads with coordinated outfits representing their ethnic roots. Each look carried symbolism, from the Northern Arewa embroidery to the Southeast’s George wrappers and Isiagu patterns. It was a fashion feast, and every look told a story.
Beyond the Glamour: A Statement of Identity

What made the 2025 Cultural Night truly outstanding was not just the glitz, but the unapologetic pride in African roots.
Guests proudly embraced their native languages, dance, food, and attire in a shared expression of unity in diversity.

It wasn’t just a party, it was a movement. A space where fashion met history, and entertainment met heritage.
The AMVCA Cultural Night raised the bar, proving why it remains one of the most anticipated nights in African entertainment. It was loud, proud, and unapologetically African, everything a cultural night is meant to be.
As we await the main awards ceremony, one thing is clear: Africa’s cultural heartbeat is alive and booming, and it just strutted across the red carpet in style.
